Vincenzo Vitale (born in Salerno) studied Literature and Philosophy at the Universities of Salerno, Salzburg and Basel. He graduated in Italian Studies and Philosophy at the University of Basel in May 2013 with a thesis supervised by Prof. M. A. Terzoli entitled: "Uno strano groppo, all'ombra di un gran cespo di lauri": il Pasticciaccio come pasticcio di fonti. Since January 2012 he has been collaborating to a project of the SNF to realize a complete commentary to Carlo Emilio Gadda's Pasticciaccio. Since 2013 he has been Assistant in Italian Literature at the University of Basel, and he is currently working on a doctorate on "phenomena of immanence" in thePasticciaccio under the supervision of Maria Antonietta Terzoli. Roberto Galbiati, dopo essersi laureato nel 2009 in filologia romanza all'Università degli Studi di Milano, ha conseguito il titolo di dottore di ricerca in Italianistica all'Università di Torino (2013), discutendo una tesi dal titolo: Il Cantare di Camilla (Bella Camilla) di Piero canterino da Siena. Storia della tradizione e testi. Dal settembre 2011 all'aprile 2012 ha lavorato a Parigi come assistente di lingua italiana. Dal 01.08.2012 è assistente di Letteratura italiana all'Università di Basilea. Dall'agosto 2013 è segretario della rivista on-line «I margini del libro». La sua ricerca scientifica si è rivolta prevalentemente alla filologia italiana medievale, salvo una breve escursione sulle Piacevoli notti di Giovanfrancesco Straparola. Negli ultimi tempi si sta interessando all'Inamoramento de Orlando di Matteo Maria Boiardo. ^ top |

Laura Nocito was born in Basel (Switzerland). She studied Italian and History at the University of Basel where she graduated in 2008 with a thesis on female dedications in the 16th century (Ai margini della letteratura femminile. Dediche di poetesse del Cinquecento nel Fondo Ferrari, supervisor: Maria Antonietta Terzoli, co-supervisor: Monica Bianco. Since August 2005 she collaborates to the research project I margini del libro whose aim is to study and catalogue dedications in the Italian tradition. Since 2007 she has been working for the project's journal as secretary and web-editor. ^ top |

Cosetta Veronese graduated in Foreign Languages at the University of Venice, Ca' Foscari (1994), where she also obtained a Doctoral degree with a thesis on Emily Brontë's poetry (1999). After moving to the UK, she began her career in Italian Studies at the University of Birmingham with an M.Phil. on the cinema of Francesco Rosi (2003), and a Ph.D. on Giacomo Leopardi's nineteenth-century reception (2007). She was Lecturer in Italian at the University of Portsmouth (1999-2003), and collaborated with the Leopardi Centre at Birmingham, where she taught as a Visiting Lecturer from 2003 to 2011. Since September 2011 she is a Research Fellow in Italian Studies at the University of Basel in order to complete a project funded by the EU (Marie-Curie Career Integration Grant) on how the publication of the Zibaldone has affected Leopardi's reception. She published the book Giacomo Leopardi in the Nineteenth Century: Italy's Greatest Poet after Dante? (2008) and several articles on English and Italian literature and the cinema of Rosi. Together with Dr. Andreia Guerini (Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Florianopolis, Brasil), she directs the on-line journal Appunti leopardiani. She is also a member of the editorial committee of the journal Margini.

Anna Laura Puliafito researches on Italian Renaissance culture, and is currently lecturer in Italian Philology at University of Basel where she teaches writing and translating techniques. She was a researcher at the European University Institute (IUE) in Fiesole, and a collaborator in the Istituto Nazionale di Studi sul Rinascimento in Florence. She is particularly interested in 16th-century discussions on the concepts of ‘nature' and ‘science', and in the debate on the ‘retorica perfetta' and the modes of transmission of knowledge with particular focus on the world of the Italian academies. She has participated at numerous conferences, and has published various contributions in journals and miscellaneous volumes, among others on: Francesco Patrizi da Cherso, Giordano Bruno, the Accademia Veneziana della Fama, the Patrizi-Telesio controversy and the circulation of hermetic texts. She edited the amendments to Patrizi's Nova de Universis Philosophia (Florence 1993) and the anastatic reprint of Giordano Bruno's Dialoghi della Retorica (Lecce 1994). She also published a monograph on G. Bruno's Candelaio ( Comica pazzia. Vicissitudine e destini umani nel Candelaio di G.Bruno , Florence 2007). Since 1998 she is working on the translations of critical essays from German into Italian. She participated at the SNF research project I margini del libro. Indagine teorica e storica sui testi di dedica . She is a member of the editorial board of the journal «Margini. Giornale della dedica», (1, 2007). ^ top |

Sara Garau was born in Basel (Switzerland). After studying History and Italian at the Universities of Basel and Bologna, she graduated in Basel in 2003 with a thesis on Napoleonic dedications ( Dedicatorie dell'Italia napoleonica (1796-1814). Tra continuazione e rottura degli schemi della dedica , supervisor: Maria Antonietta Terzoli).
Since 2002 she collaborates to the research project on dedications financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation and directed by Maria Antonietta Terzoli. She has been assistant in Italian literature at the University of Basel since 2003. Besides a journal article on Basile's fairy tales ( La temporalità e la sua rappresentazione nel ‘Pentamerone' di Giambattista Basile , in «Levia Gravia», 2002), she published a contribution on Napoleonic dedications in the proceedings of the conference held in Basel in November 2002 (I margini del libro. Indagine teorica e storica sui testi di dedica , Padua, Antenore, 2004). ^ top |

Rodolfo Zucco studied at the ‘Istituto di filologia neolatina' at the University of Padua where he graduated in Italian stylistic and metrics with Fernando Bandini in 1991. He received his doctorate in Romance and Italian philology in 1996, under the supervision of Bandini and Pier Vincenzo Mengaldo.
He has worked in particular on the poetry of Giovanni Giudici (of whom he edited the poetic work: I versi della vita , Milan, Mondadori, 2000) as well as on 18th-century metrical issues ( Istituti metrici del Settecento. L'ode e la canzonetta , Genoa, Name, 2001). He also researched into the metrical and stylistic features of poets from the second half of the 20th century (such as Caproni, Sereni, Roversi, Raboni, Bandini, Magrelli, Benzoni, Ruffilli, and De Signoribus). He held seminars on the fiction of Dino Buzzati at the Istituto Universitario di Lingue Moderne in Feltre (1997-98 and 1998-99); he also worked in various libraries of the Veneto Region (Fondazione Cini, Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana, and Biblioteca della Fondazione Querini Stampalia). From 2000 to 2005 he was assistant of Italian literature at the University of Basel. Since August 2002 he collaborates to the research project financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation, and directed by M. A. Terzoli. ^ top |
